Division Business Partner Manager EMEA will lead a team of Division Procurement Specialists that support and enable the Division in meeting its operations, innovation and financial targets by managing the required supplier capabilities and performance for assigned projects and categories, The Division Business Partner Manager operates in a managed network of Division business stakeholders, suppliers, Category Management members and relevant COE organization.

The role reports into the Division Procurement Sr. Director

Scale of Responsibilities

The Division business Partner Manager will manage a team of 12 specialists that have the following responsibilities :

  • Identify suppliers capability requirements and select suppliers
  • Manage procurement and supply base related projects that contribute to improved supplier spend performance
  • Support divisional footprint initiatives outsourcing / insourcing (both Operations and R&D), including the realization of local / regional supply base solutions
  • Translates divisional requirements for (future) supplier capabilities and supplier performance to Category Management Team and divisional SQE team
  • Partners with Category Managers, R&D, Engineering to support and project manage annual value improvements and drives competitive advantage
  • Support Supplier supply capacity management by conducting capacity assessments and collaborate with the Category Management Teams to expand required supply options as well as supply flexibility
  • Responsible for the coordination of the business projects (e.g. M&A integration, provide input to make or buy
  • Serve as the point of contact and ensure the implementation of Enterprise Processes such as Supplier Quality, Supplier Risk and Supplier Management
  • The position leads the team by setting and managing the objectives and targets of the respective team, aligns required capacity with stakeholders and allocate resources to relevant projects, develop talent and skill levels of the team, manages escalations with stakeholders and suppliers where required for the scope of responsibility and contributes to division and sourcing strategy development.

    Management of Technical Responsibilities

  • Represent Procurement in NPI projects and coordinate supply base related activities with x-functional division team as well as with Category Managers.
  • Conduct all related sourcing project management activities (including project milestone / gate pass activities)

  • Collect supplier (technical) capability requirements for current and future product portfolio as input for supplier scouting
  • Gathers Division business requirements and assures compliance to regulatory requirements
  • Support for indirect materials spend compliance and objectives, as well as link with Global team for policies and procedures
  • Leverages scouting approach’ to influence R&D and Commercial partners earlier in NPI process, monitor product pipeline (LCM), support product platforming
  • Serve as escalation point of contact for Procurement within the Division
  • Contribute to divisional procurement metrics for business reviews
  • Drive and track compliance for indirect materials, as well as link with Global team for policies and procedures
  • This position requires a person that has a proven track record of being able to work in a complex and fast-changing environment, is used to work with large scope and being able to set priorities.

    Ideally has a background in Sourcing or Supply Chain roles, preferably in a High Tech Systems environment with high diversity and low volumes.

    The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience :

  • University degree (Mechanics / Electronics / Business / Industrial Engineering) or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills.
  • A minimum of 7 years of procurement / sourcing experience
  • High level of proficiency with core Procurement skills (engineering, sourcing)
  • Strong influencing skills with ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints and understand differing needs of stakeholders
  • Significant business acumen and proven team-building skills
  • Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to respond to changes in the external environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to confidently present complex information
  • Results-oriented, metrics-driven leader with a root cause, permanent fix approach, continuous improvement approach
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong procurement and sourcing background
  • Demonstrated business acumen and understanding of operations
  • 5+ years' experience leading and managing procurement teams with a focus on mentoring, coaching and performance management
  • Progressively responsible career path in manufacturing operations and procurement with significant practical experience in international settings
  • Strong analytical skills and process focus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively to direct and motivate global constituents to meet business objectives, and possess strong presentation skills at all levels of the organization
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal skills, and unquestioned integrity and trust
