The Risk, Finance and Treasury Technology team (RFT) comprises 3500 colleagues situated in the major hubs of United Kingdom, United States, India and Czech Republic.

We are accountable for the delivery of technology for Risk, Finance and Treasury Functions globally, working in partnership with our Business customers to develop and implement long term strategic IT solutions.

We support more than 450 applications and a user base of 7000+ staff across all business units and major geographic hubs, enabling them to effectively manage capital and liquidity, assess internal and external risk metrics, and meet regulatory reporting requirements.

Data Fabric, Analytics & Reporting team (FAR) is responsible for implementation of strategic core risk computation platform for the Bank.

The system uses grid of 80,000 compute engines to run millions of trade pricing and risk requests a day, while maintaining 24*7 availability.

Our development approach is based on agile techniques with focus on best practices in the entire development lifecycle. Test driven development with continuous integration and continuous delivery are central to how we reduce time to market while maintaining high quality.

Beowulf is the strategic risk engine for the investment bank and its primary purpose is calculation of the market risk exposure of portfolios of financial derivative trades spanning across various asset classes including Foreign Exchange, Rates, Credit, Securitized Products and more.

Beowulf is a complex high-throughput, low-latency, scalable system that distributes calculations to thousands of CPU as well as GPU computing engines.

The system leverages standard technologies such as C# / .NET, MS SQL, Oracle, as well as some highly specialized and sophisticated technologies, such as DataSynapse for grid computing, Solace for messaging, Coherence for distributed cache, etc.

Contribute to development of the strategic market risk engine called Beowulf Work on various projects varying between critical technical deliveries, regulatory projects and platform enhancements requested by the business users

  • Analyze new requirements to find the most appropriate technical solution, contribute to the overall system design
  • Take responsibility and ownership of development of new features
  • Document designs and communicate them with the team
  • Work on all stages of the development lifecycle (analysis, design, implementation, unit / integration testing)
  • Provide 3rd level support of the production and non-production environments
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Strong knowledge of C# and .Net 4 (or higher) framework (or strong C++ or Java)
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming
  • Working knowledge of source control, unit and integration testing, continuous integration
  • Good knowledge of SW development best practices, design patterns, dependency injection, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills
