Job Summary :

Novartis is currently searching for a Senior BPA Novartis Business Services to join the Finance team in Prague.

Job Purpose :

Provides business planning and analysis support, including but not limited to : month-end closing, management reporting, budget and latest estimates, forecasting, value-

based performance management for NBS.

Key Responsibilities : Business Partnering

Business Partnering

  • Partners effectively on different dimensions (local, global, within NBS, across divisions as well external stakeholders)
  • Drives cost transparency and ensures good understanding of key cost drivers
  • Evaluates risks & opportunities, proactively communicates and makes recommendations for mitigation. Follows up and drives issue resolutions -
  • Ensures business partners understand the financial processes and follow internal guidelines / SOPs

  • Generates ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions Planning & Reporting
  • Drives the planning process StratPlan / Budget / LF for Costs, FTEs and Services (Qs) for the area or responsibility
  • Drives optimal resource allocation between Business, Customers and 3rd party providers in collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Supports and challenges organization to achieve stretched targets.
  • Provides timely, accurate and meaningful financial management reporting on operation and project costs
  • Customizes reporting tools in response to customer needs, drives standardization and automation
  • Decision support for Investments / Projects

  • Works in close collaboration with the Country / Region Finance and Business and provides financial expertise for evaluation and execution / tracking of Investments / Projects
  • Supports / provides a standardized Investment / Project approval process and ensures adherence to Novartis Accounting Manual and other guidelines.
  • Leads projects to improve processes and to drive innovation for the area of responsibility
  • Productivity & Offshoring and KPI Tracking / Benchmarking

  • Identifies cost savings and productivity opportunities
  • Drives the Offshoring / Outsourcing Strategy and works closely with sourcing function to maximise productivity Accounting / Compliance
  • Ensures good accounting and practices in line with Novartis Accounting Manual (NAM)
  • Applies standard accounting concepts and techniques
  • Takes responsibility for specific functional reporting set up in FCRS
  • Identifies root cause of problems and recommends controls or processes for improvement.
  • Leadership

  • Provides support and guidance to other finance colleagues
  • Indirectly leads the activities from a functional prospective across the Novartis Global Service Centers (Prague, Dublin, Mexico, Kuala Lumpur, Hyderabad) for the area of responsibility
  • Takes the lead for the area of responsibility in providing guidance and decision making support for the organization
  • Shares and drives best practices and knowhow

    Minimum requirements

    The ideal candidate will have :

  • University Degree (Bachelor or higher) in Finance & Accounting or similar business degree
  • Fluent English, 2nd language desirable
  • At least 5 years of finance experience in Controlling / Business Planning & Analysis and Financial Reporting & Accounting
