Job Purpose :

The Biomarker Development (BMD) group at the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) is seeking an Associate Director to join our Clinical and Translational Imaging team and actively provide strategic, scientific, technical expertise and leadership on the optimal use of imaging in drug development.

This is an opportunity to contribute your expertise to a dynamic team developing the next generation of personalized medicines.

You will interact with multidisciplinary research and clinical trial teams and will determine the optimal use of anatomical and functional imaging to drive decision making.

The role provides an excellent opportunity for application of radiological readouts in clinical trials within a cutting edge translational medicine environment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Partner with Translational Medicine and TA Research to develop and lead imaging
  • fit for purpose solutions for pharmaceutical projects

  • Collaborate with Research and Development to develop and lead translational imaging paradigms and implement in clinical trials
  • Monitor and execute imaging readouts in imaging trials using internal operational support and external contract research organizations
  • Ensure quality and timely execution of imaging trials to deliver critical drug development decisions
  • Develop and manage network of external experts in the molecular imaging field
  • Act as BMD point of contact in clinical trial teams
  • Identify and / or develop novel imaging techniques and implement in clinical trials

    Minimum requirements

    The ideal candidate will have :

  • Technology and physics expertise at PhD level in one or more Radiology modalities
  • Hands on experimental skill sets on acquisition of Clinical imaging data is a must have
  • Drug development knowledge is required with a minimum of 5 yrs in clinical trials
  • Deep understanding of imaging readouts, statistical fluctuations, risks, patient burden, clinical workflow and high precision data analyses via direct image analyses experience
  • Excellent communication skills and good command of English is needed
