What is the job about?
How do you release new applications, make updates and add changes to a leading health care leader's IT environment without users noticing a glitch in services?
In MSD our Release Management Office tackles this very challenge. As a team leader, you work with Software Engineers to ensure our products seamlessly move from development through roll out and into production.
You are excited by complex systems and the challenges that come from working with large computing systems.
Release Management functions (50%)
Partner with IT project teams to develop and provide release management services
Develop release plans, define and construct IT environments, establish structured source code management practice, plan and execute releases and more
Coach and mentor all levels of the organization to adopt methodologies and tools to improve the release management services
Learn business processes related to systems and functional work area being supported
Ensure releases are deployed successfully and transitioned to an operational status
Participation in our service evolution through development and adoption
Program and Project Service Lead supporting customers
Release Management Functional Leadership for the Prague Hub (50%)
Work closely with global team members to help define and implement a RMO service and resource strategy
Identify, set up and implement projects providing services to customers as needed
Participate in, and lead, service definition and evolution activities working
Coordinate the deployment, adoption and scale-up of Release Management tools and services in Prague and EUCAN
Coordinate on-boarding of new RMO resources onto the Prague hub
Provide process, practice and tool guidance and expertise to team members as required
Coordinate marketing and customer relationship development in Prague and EUCAN
As part of a global functional leadership team, implement and practice demand management, financial management and resource-
to-project assignment as part of aligning individual strengths with needs and opportunities.
Establish support teams and resources needed to deliver services to projects and customers
People management activities
What we need is a person who
BSc degree or equivalent in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
6 to many years of experience in software engineering, release engineering and / or configuration management
ITIL process knowledge
We will be happy if you know or heard of any of these
Have experience with operations support for applications in a business environment
Have IT Service Management and / or Operational Support is a plus
Have experience with application life cycle
Have curiosity, communication and enthusiasm
Have product and services thinking
