Are you someone with ideas on how to intelligently troubleshoot and fix large scale distributed infrastructure for engineered systems and the cloud? The Oracle Linux team designs and develops the core technologies and is a recognized leader in the Linux Kernel and OpenFabrics communities. We provide modern Linux kernels and next-generation RDMA technologies over Infiniband and Ethernet. We design and develop the systems technology that underlies Oracle's Engineered Systems, Oracle Public Cloud, Paas and Saas offerings.

We are looking for an experienced manager to lead a team of Linux Kernel Developers that can troubleshoot and fix Linux issues in production systems in cloud and on-premise. Manager leading this team should have hands on experience in troubleshooting and fixing Linux Kernel issues and can mentor developers in the team. Should also have experience in managing and setting customer expectations while the issue is being troubleshooted. Should co-ordinate and work with different engineering teams within the org. Should ensure timely resolutions are provided to customers.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.

Leads a specialized area which may have diverse functional elements. Frequently interacts with supervisors and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically one year of software engineering or related experience.
