Role Summary

Mavenir’s SaaS operations team runs various communication and collaboration services from public and private cloud environments for customers across the world.

These services enable our customers to offer innovative solutions at a quick pace to their customers and easily adapt to changing market requirements.

With a dynamic team spread over multiple continents, we actively work on continuously improving our operations by implementing DevOps methodologies and cloud native architectures while retaining the high availability and quality standards expected from traditional telecommunication services.

The NOC provides monitoring for the complete SaaS portfolio but also bespoke monitoring services for various on-premises solutions.

As the NOC manager, you will be accountable for leading the day-to-day activities of the NOC team and for ensuring every team member is enabled to excel in their work.

Being self-propelled and not afraid to go into technical details or being hands-on, you don’t accept status quo and relentlessly work on improving how we work, always keeping the user at the forefront of your mind.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a NOC team that, by monitoring and alerting on key service indicators, supports with the prevention of service impacting incidents or by reducing their impact
  • Develop a strategy and set goals for the NOC organization, through research, books, articles, and collaboration with other NOC teams
  • Maintain and update a business continuity plan for the NOC
  • Implement monitoring of services from an end-user perspective by defining, implementing, and reporting on service level indicators and service level objectives
  • Ensure that the NOC operates according to standard operating procedures that continuously evolve with inputs from lessons learned and best practices coming from Mavenir’s global operations organization
  • Manage incidents and escalations. You actively participate in leading the resolution of incidents and communication to customers
  • Support the team with communicating changes and incidents succinctly to impacted customers
  • Coordinate the NOC aspects of onboarding new customers, products, services, and cloud environments
  • Manage a comprehensive SOC that integrates Mavenir security and threat monitoring with 3rd party services
  • Work closely with other teams in Mavenir that contribute to a successful service, and foster the collaboration of NOC engineers with their engineering peers
  • Supervisory Responsibility

    You will manage a team consisting of approximately 10 NOC engineers working in shifts to cover Mavenir’s global cloud services 24x7.

    As such you are expected to :

  • provide employees with immediate and regular feedback
  • coach and mentor to improve performance by setting personal development goals,
  • setup training plans
  • ensure employees are familiar with and adhere to Mavenir policies
  • Job Requirements

  • Must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A good understanding of the English language is required to work with Mavenir teams and customers spread across the globe
  • 2+ years of people or technical leadership or equivalent experience leading a team
  • Ability to work outside standard office hours and participate in manager-on-duty rota.
  • Working as an engineer performing deployment, support, and design activities of Linux based solutions. With experience in some or all of the following areas :

  • Cisco Networks, Red hat, Palo Alto, F5
  • Monitoring tools : Kibana, Grafana, OpenNMS, ICINGA
  • Public Cloud Environments : AWS, Azure
  • Preferred Qualifications

    AWS and / or Azure certifications

    Software development and scripting skills

    Security certifications

    Experience with :

  • Managing a NOC
  • Ansible, Terraform
  • OpenStack
  • Elastic Stack
  • Accessibility
