Deliver IOS upgrades and patching (software) to customer’s end-client to a specified compliant level.
IOS upgrades performed on Cisco (and small portion of Juniper) routers / switches, verification testing pre and post change
Provide reporting of upgrade activities for management information
Managed upgrades on Cisco Catalyst and datacentre Nexus devices
Assess memory, interface and module support requirements for upgrades.
Assess IOS requirements for the differing devices on the network to make recommendations of upgrade options.
Assess software feature support on the current IOS to ensure upgrade will support same features
Assess potential impact of posted vulnerabilities by Cisco and a small amount of Juniper to devices in scope and advice if patch / upgrade is needed
Mergence and change Access Control Lists based on the required output of the IOS upgrade
Manage config backups and ensure roll back plan for failed IOS upgrades
Manage upgrades via agreed change process that governs customer’s process
Interface with customer’s leadership to provide data on project status.
