As part of UNICEF’s Public Partnerships Division, UNICEF Liaison Office in Seoul is responsible for strengthening partnership and relationship management with the Government of the Republic of Korea.

The Office works closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), and Korean Parliamentarian Friends of UNICEF (KPFU), among other government bodies.

How can you make a difference?

Korea has experience, expertise, knowledge and skills in the health sector which has been acquired over several years. Under the supervision and guidance of the Head of Office, the Public Health Research Consultant will conduct a research study to identify Korea’s areas of expertise in the health sector which have the potential to be replicated to other developing countries through horizontal cooperation.

The duration of this consultancy is two to three months.

Main deliverables :

  • Mapping of governmental and non-governmental organizations and associations within Korea which are directly or indirectly involved in the health sector.
  • Detailed study on the global cooperation’ programme of the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
  • Identification of good practices in Korea’s health sector which are related to UNICEF’s mandate.
  • Mapping of developing countries that could benefit from Korea’s experience.
  • Proposing horizontal cooperation modalities to share Korea’s experience with other countries.
  • To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have

  • Advanced university degree (Master's or higher) in social science, public health, medicine, or related field.
  • Specialized experience with research (secondary-sources minimum), databases, analyzing and synthesizing information, producing accessible outputs to inform decision making.
  • Experience in working with the Ministry of Health and Welfare would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of office computer systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and internet research tools.
  • Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Korean is required, with a strong attention to detail.
