Director - Life180005LP Summary of Role As a Director - Life you will work beside some of the industry’s top thought leaders designing and implementing cutting-

edge solutions to challenges faced by the world’s leading insurers. Your main responsibilities will be as follows : Clients

  • Provide life actuarial consulting to clients on a range of topics including :
  • Advanced financial modelling approaches and systems
  • Performance in areas related to financial risk, product design and distribution and capital issues
  • Financial reporting IFRS 17, MCEV
  • Regulatory changes, including Solvency II
  • Corporate restructuring and capital enhancement initiatives (demutualization, securitization, M&A etc)
  • Enterprise risk management
  • Deliver superior, consistent project management for assigned clients
  • Interface with colleagues from other practices and regions on assignments that reflect the client’s broader business issues
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with client contacts through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects
  • Demonstrate commitment to Towers Watson professional standards in managing analyses and in communications with clients
  • Thought Leadership

  • Lead or contribute to the development of the company’s intellectual capital including plans for taking this to market
  • Think issues through and devise new approaches for creating opportunities
  • Establish a public reputation in a chosen specialism through the production of articles and presentations
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior management (actuarial, risk, finance, sales) and C-Level executives in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and the wider CEE region
  • Financial & Business Development

  • Meet goals for billable hours, intellectual capital development, and revenue generation
  • Develop and present proposals to potential clients, demonstrating the economic value of the company’s offerings
  • Contribute to the overall leadership and management of the Prague office
  • Use contacts within current network to obtain introductions to new contacts; work to develop supporters for company’s products and services
  • People

  • Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients / colleagues at all levels
  • Serve as manager or mentor to more junior associates
  • The Requirements

  • Experience in a consulting firm, life insurance firm, or other financial services organization
  • Experience or interest in selling projects to insurance companies
  • Depth of experience in at least one core service area : enterprise risk management; risk and value management; financial modeling;
  • financial and regulatory reporting; Solvency II; M&A and corporate restructuring; product and distribution strategy

  • Depth of experience in financial modelling, particularly in designing, developing and using actuarial models using actuarial software such as prophet, MoSes, RiskAgility or AFM
  • Demonstrable breadth of knowledge across multiple service areas
  • Deep understanding of economic / market issues and the ability to interpret their impact on clients
  • A track record of performing life insurance work as well as the ability to contribute to cross-practice client engagements
  • Proven experience successfully managing projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget
  • Demonstrated success or strong evidence to support new business generation
  • Strong client relationship, interpersonal and team skills
  • Well-developed verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter attitude and ability to work within ambiguity
  • Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues
  • Strong analytical and creative skills
  • Enjoy training / mentoring junior staff
  • The ability to see the "big picture," leveraging the resources of related practices to address the clients' business challenges
  • Excellent MS Office knowledge
  • Availability to travel on an as needed basis, domestically and internationally
  • Masters or higher academic qualification in the area of actuarial science, financial risk, mathematics, statistics or other related discipline
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken
  • Well-developed verbal communication skills in Czech, Slovak or another CEE languages (eg Slovenian, Croatian, Polish, Hungarian, Romanian, Bulgarian)
  • Professional actuarial qualification an advantage
