Product Team that specializes in Maritime & Trade data at S&P Global to provide clients with the ability to see the live positions of every ship in the world, where it comes from, goes to, and details on who owns and operates that ship.
We can also determine what cargo is being moved in what volume and value and the key people in the supply chain. Governments, ship operators, port authorities, financials and cargo owners use our services to optimise supply chains, review operational activity and evaluate market positions.
Role description
This position is for a software engineer to work as part of a project team Maritime and Trade to develop and deliver commercial software products for external use.
Needed on daily basis is knowledge of C# and JavaScript, HTML and CSS with experience of developing web applications.
General Duties
Participate in the design, planning and development of solutions based on industry requirements
Participate as part of a project team to design, code, test and implement moderately complex programs to support the portfolio management process
Team member in small to mid-level sized programs or portions of a program
Establishes testing procedures to ensure application is thoroughly tested throughout development and before release
Assist in establishing timelines
Monitor and report to management on project status, identify issues that may impede attainment of goals, recommend and implement corrective measures
Maintenance of existing systems
Requirements
Degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience
Experience in building web applications
Skills in C# and .NET, focusing on web development
Knowledge of one or more frontend technologies e.g., HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript.
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Interpersonal skills must be able to work effectively as part of a project / program team and foster team cooperation.
Stays current with rapidly changing technology and applies it to business needs
Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
Ability to self-manage
Good English skills
