Position Description

As part of an exceptional team this technical & commercial position will be responsible to pro-actively drive Flowserve’s mechanical seals sales activities, focusing particularly on aftermarket business development (Spare Parts, Service & Repair high end offerings, e.

g. SSO, Upgrades, etc.) within the assigned territory.

This based role requires a dynamic self-motivated individual who understands the local market needs and opportunities and has the ability to successfully communicate to achieve growth.

The successful candidate will offer direct sales / marketing experience in rotating equipment, as well as understanding of local market & culture primarily in Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary.

He / she will support also the sales initiatives in the area of Distribution (esp through Hungary) and in coordination with the local salesforce as required.

The position will be based preferably in Czech Republic (Olomouc), but the specific location can also be reviewed on a case basis if required.

The position requires extensive travel within the assigned territory (approx. 50%) and will report into the Eastern European Sales Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Plan, implement and ensure the area sales forecast is met or exceeded;
  • Support the annual strategic sales plan based on market opportunities consistent with Flowserve’s strategic objectives;
  • Offer products at established prices and discounts and in line with Flowserve total sales and product mix objectives;
  • Develop and maintain good contacts with the BU’s, aftermarket organizations and SSO so customer needs are addressed swiftly;
  • Full alignment, support and cooperation with the Seal QRC team already in place in Turkey;
  • Building up and running a distributor infrastructure;
  • Follow the PMP process to ensure Goals and Objectives are met or exceeded, identifying shortfalls and seeking training and support where necessary;
  • Meet annual financial and non-financial goals as agreed by management;
  • Ensure active participation and completion of all company sponsored safety training as scheduled;
  • Drive improved customer satisfaction, place customers first, act as their advocate within the organization whilst balancing the financial needs of Flowserve;
  • Follow-up on overdue receivables;
  • Provide active support to Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) initiatives;
  • Provide professional communication and implementation of company’s strategies and policies.
  • Position Requirements

  • Engineering degree (mechanical or similar preferred);
  • Proven relevant experience in Technical Sales;
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of responsibility is required;
  • Demonstrated skills in direct sales activity (negotiation, communication, presentation and influencing skills) is essential;
  • Fluent working knowledge of English language verbally and in writing is essential;
  • Team-player, with well-developed interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships at all levels within the business;
  • Commitment to implement best practices;
  • Superior multitasking skills, able to manage multiple projects / accounts simultaneously.
  • Preferences

  • Background in aftermarket development is preferred;
  • Previous experience in setting up and managing sales third party channel (sales rep. or distributor network) is preferred;
