The Red Hat Customer Experience and Engagement (CEE) team is looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join SAP on the Linux team in Brno, Czech Republic.

In this role, you will provide high level technical support to customers using SAP applications with Red Hat solutions, so you're expected to be able to troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues.

You will become an expert on Red Hat technologies and a trusted advisor to enterprise-level customers. As a Technical Support Engineer, you'll work with customers to build a relationship of trust and confidence between Red Hat and the customer engineering, development, and operations teams and continually improve the product.

You will be expected to share your knowledge with your colleagues and customers alike through contributing to the global knowledge base, providing internal training sessions on a particular area of interest, or mentoring less experienced teammates on an ongoing basis.

You will also have the opportunity to be actively involved in product development, verification, troubleshooting, documentation, and upstream community work.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Diagnose problems, troubleshoot customer issues, and develop solutions to technical issues
  • Provide customers with an exceptional experience and amaze them with the quality of Red Hat Support
  • Constantly work on your skills and keep up with the latest technology trends
  • Consult raised issues and develop relationships with in-house engineers and developers to promote creative solutions and improve customer satisfaction
  • Contribute to the global Red Hat knowledge management system
  • Help address highly complex and critical issues
  • Keep our customers updated and ensure they are satisfied with our support
  • Manage customer cases and maintain clear and concise case documentation
  • Required skills

  • Linux system administration experience like networking, firewall, security, web servers, databases, etc.; knowledge on clustering is a plus
  • Solid troubleshooting or debugging skills and a passion for problem solving and investigation
  • Great customer support skills combined with passionate attitude to learn new technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • The following are considered a plus :

  • Experience with SAP, SAP HANA, or SAP Netweaver; experience of those products in High Availability Environments will be a big plus
  • Prior Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or other Linux certification; RHCE will be required within your first 60 days
  • Any previous scripting or programming experience in bash, python, perl, etc.
