Red Hat's Information Technology (IT) Experience (ITX) team is looking for a Workplace Technology Engineer to join us in the Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region.
In this role, you will be part of a small team that owns the innovation and development of technologies in disciplines we are responsible for, as well as the delivery of all office-specific IT infrastructure in the region.
You'll be responsible for a range of infrastructure, including office-based IT server rooms (both the room itself and the hardware hosted within), physical network cabling infrastructure for entire offices, all office audiovisual (AV) infrastructure including displays, video conferencing units, smart room controls, video-over-IP, and printing devices and infrastructure.
This is a significant responsibility that will require some travel, as Red Hat is continually expanding, adding offices and occasionally relocating.
Primary job responsibilities
Perform vendor management; manage comprehensive support of office infrastructure for other IT teams
Communicate with vendors and other IT teams for problem resolution
Coordinate troubleshooting of third-line issues in the server room or with the physical network, video conferencing, and printing
Be responsible for proactive monitoring maintenance of all offices
Help with hardware procurement related to office IT buildouts for office moves and expansions, as well as with ongoing maintenance of office infrastructure
Serve as a key technical engineering associate for all office projects, including new offices, moves, expansion, refits, and integrations of offices of acquired businesses
Provide feedback and contribute to new office build standards
Develop automated solutions for integration with our platforms and tools
Good written and verbal language skills in English
Experience working with external vendors and working on projects
Commercial experience with IT server rooms, physical network cabling infrastructure, AV infrastructure, and printing tools
Experience in IT industry with either a Linux background or a multi-platform background including Linux, Mac, and Windows
Experience working in an IT hardware support role in a technical area and interacting with customers
Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
The following are considered a plus :
