The candidate will be :

  • An expert in industry agile best practices and methodologies, knowledge of DevOps
  • Drive to learn relentlessly and help others learn (training capability)
  • Able to build / fulfill bridge between Amsterdam and Krakow
  • A coach, facilitator, and leader aiming to increase the team's performance, satisfaction, and motivation
  • Also candidates will understand how to challenge the battle between the longer-term vision and short-term goals.
  • Responsibilities include :

  • Working with other Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of agile ways of working in the organization
  • Facilitating Agile practices and ceremonies : daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, and other activities as needed
  • Promoting and demonstrating core principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility (being an ambassador)
  • Ensuring a collaborative culture exists within GIS, its (external) development partners, and their product teams, promoting team building and ensuring the entire team is engaged
  • Identifying and supporting the team by removing any impediments / distractions that interfere with the team’s ability to deliver against their commitments
  • Coaching the team in creating the product backlog, sprint backlogs, and writing user stories in the most pragmatic way
  • Supporting Product Team in tracking and communicating team progress and backlogs. Looking for opportunities to increase teams effectiveness (and therewith business value)
  • Managing Work In Progress Limits’, making sure the team is not working on too many stories / tasks at once, and helping them get into a flow of starting and completing work in a predictable manner
  • Identifying product team improvement opportunities and looking externally for best practices to increase team effectiveness and overall product quality
  • Encouraging the team to look for opportunities to help each other out (e.g. by swarming higher priority user stories that team members are struggling with)
  • Requirements :

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree
  • Candidate should have at least 1,5 + years of work experience in an IT environment
  • Scrum certificate*
  • Excellent communication skills in written and verbal English
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills and leadership skills (able to push back, but also able to pull, influencing and negotiating skills, lead by example and positive role model)
  • Excellent team player and team builder, (experience with remote teams, active listening skills, ability to negotiate, ability to motivate and develop team)
  • Positive are logical and analytical problem-solving skills but also creative and foster a culture to generate new ideas
  • Experience with change management, solution-oriented and People-oriented
  • People-oriented, experienced in working with different cultures, fosters a culture of giving feedback
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines and perform at high standards
  • Flexible leadership style : able to push back, but also able to pull
  • Knowledge of the business and the importance of creating value for both the business and the customer
