Your Mission
We are looking for a mid-level back-end engineer to join one of our engineering teams.
We believe that well performing services are ones that are followed by the same people throughout its application lifecycle.
This means that you will be there from the early conception meetings, development and test strategy, to deployment in production, observability, and support.
You will have a strong impact within your team by providing insights, leading some projects or contributing in steering the roadmap.
We have 13 teams working on a variety of topics you could work on : Train Supply, Connecting our bus inventories ... for our 4 current products : long-distance carpooling, short-distance carpooling (BlaBlaCar Daily), buses and our Global Distribution System (GDS).
Your responsibilities
Participating in the design, development and maintenance of new Java services to contribute to our SOA migration
Participating in the whole application lifecycle, meaning : early meetings, design, development, tests strategy, deployment to production, monitoring, alerting and support
Developing your skills around a key element of the BlaBlaCar infrastructure
Interacting with people with different roles and backgrounds and sharing your technical expertise with a mix of technical, product and business experts
Your qualifications
3+ years experience in tech companies with a strong engineering culture
Fluency in object oriented language development (preferably Java)
Good knowledge of service oriented architecture and architectural patterns
Familiar with databases; especially relational ones like MariaDB
Hands-on experience with developer tools like Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and monitoring solutions (Datadog)
Ability to find the good balance between fast iterations and quality of delivery
Fluency in English
Nice to have : knowledge of frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot, JUnit and Mockito
