Amyris is a science and technology leader in the research, development, and production of sustainable ingredients for the Clean Health & Beauty and Flavors & Fragrances markets.
We are looking for a Sr . or Lead Data Engineer to join the growing Amyris Digital team. Reporting to the VP of Data this person will play a central role in advancing all aspects of our data management system.
This includes playing a major role in the development of Amyris’s next-generation data platform.
Responsibilities :
Define and maintain optimized data models and pipelines
Assemble and munge data sets across multiple sources and systems
Build out Analytic tools that help stakeholders understand our operations and customers
Create tools and data sets to assist other technical and non-technical groups within the company
Mentor and lead junior members of the team
Create and update internal system documentation
Main requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physical Science, or related field
4+ years of experience building out robust production-ready data services and platforms
Expertise in SQL , data lakes , data warehousing , and ETL systems
Expertise in at least one major programing language beyond SQL (Java, Python, C++, etc.)
Experience working with big data’ and associated systems
Familiarity with best practices and processes for managing PII and access rights management
In-depth knowledge of creating solutions on at least one of the large public cloud providers : AWS, GCC, or Azure
Experience working within Salesforce, Domo, or other modern Analytic platforms
Ability to discuss projects and systems with all members of the company
Nice to have
Experience with stream-processing systems
Experience building out automated data QA system
Experience with : KPIs, Analytics, Reporting, Dashboards, or Data Science solutions
Experience in creating well thought out data models
History of running data-centric and / or data management projects
Ability to manage stakeholder discussions
