Position Overview

MSD Business Services Centers (BSC), located across three regions (Americas, Europe, and Asia), are responsible for the timely and efficient delivery of standardized, global financial processes.

The EMEA BSC in Prague, Czech Republic will be responsible for the execution and delivery of a broad range of financial services and processes across MSD business divisions and markets for the EMEA region.

The Project Manager role is responsible for the full end-to-end running of EMEA BSC projects and cooperation and representation of EMEA BSC on the global BSC projects across the global GBS organization.

The Project Management team is part of the wider Operational Excellence team. Project management responsibilities include assessment of projects in scope, requirements gathering, driving the decision-

making process as well as delivering projects on time, within budget and agreed scope

Position Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following :

  • Establish the project governance definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation to the project
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Coordinate internal resources for the flawless execution of projects
  • Successfully manage the relationship with the internal BSC and business client and all stakeholders
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with applicable policies, laws and regulations
  • Manages internal commitment and leadership expectations in terms of project status, upcoming milestones, scope, budget, quality, and delivery of benefits
  • Planning, cooperation and reporting on transitions into EMEA BSC
  • Qualifications

    Education & Experience Required :

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position within an international Shared Service Centre
  • Business Level fluency 90% (oral and written) in English language, fluency in other languages is an advantage
  • Strong Excel experience (pivot tables, macros, foundations of VBA)
  • Understanding and practical knowledge of processes in Finance
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proven working experience in project management
  • Preferred :

  • Strong process orientation, knowledge of process design tools
  • Green and above Six Sigma, PMP or PRINCE II certification
  • The ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work under pressure
  • Professional experience at an organization with operations across multiple countries
  • Experience with internal controls and process standardization preferred
  • Knowledge of accounting principles is an advantage
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organization skills to coordinate and manage multiple projects and activities
  • Demonstrated commitment to education and professional development
  • Ability to operate independently and navigate through change or uncertainty
  • Positive attitude and problem-solving mindset and analytical skills with a proactive management style to implement new processes
  • Results oriented, sense of urgency, knows how to prioritize, ability to communicate and to create rapport with stakeholders, effective communication.

    Technical Skills Requirements

  • Advanced PC skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) required
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial data
  • Works effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, under pressure and with a high degree of professionalism
  • Willingness to grow into MSD organization either into more senior BSC positions or to relocate to local markets
  • Possess a high degree of integrity and personal ethics in implementing corporate policies and procedures
