IDC’s European Enterprise Applications team is looking for a SENIOR RESEARCH ANALYST to help develop, articulate, and drive IDC's European Enterprise Applications research program.

This role presents an opportunity to expand IDC’s recognized thought leadership in the Finance, Supply Chain, ERP, HCM, and the broader Enterprise Applications space.

IDC is looking for a senior research analyst who can help innovate and create new thinking around, for example, the impact of cloud and social technologies, societal disruptions (pandemic, geopolitical conflicts, supply chain disruptions, etc.

application ecosystems, new ways of working, etc. on enterprise applications adoption and competitive dynamics.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the team by :

Leading and growing IDC’s market-leading research into ERP, finance, and supply chain market trends.

Defining the overall research coverage of enterprise applications on topics based on your knowledge and feedback from customers and communities.

Publishing thought leadership research papers on various business applications topics, highlighting the implications for vendors and buyer organizations.

Providing insightful and relevant comments on industry relevant events, particularly on how related market trends impact enterprise applications (including AI, cloud, future of work, social media, and more).

Being a face’ of IDC’s coverage of enterprise applications in Europe, presenting at IDC and external events and webinars.

Leading or supporting the delivery of enterprise applications market intelligence briefings.

Working with IDC’s quantitative market sizing and forecasting team, as a contributor to market definition, sizing and forecasting deliverables.

The successful candidate will also be required to contribute and take ownership of custom research papers, respond to client enquires, collaborate on wider research documents, and support the sales and marketing teams on business development initiatives.

Qualifications

This position calls for a highly motivated individual with outstanding communication, presentation and writing skills, allied to good numeric and analytic skills.

We seek a quick and creative thinker with deep curiosity relating to the developments in the business applications market, someone who is happy to work as part of a team or alone depending on project size.

These capabilities will ideally have been developed over the past 3 to 5 years in industry roles focused on writing about and / or advising clients on enterprise application topics.

The ideal candidate will come from an analyst, consulting, or tech industry background, though candidates with relevant IT industry journalism experience will also be considered as strong contenders.

The successful candidate will be someone who can demonstrate :

A solid understanding of the current and future business software challenges and strategies that organizations are dealing with, and the understanding of the business as well as the technology dynamics associated with these challenges and strategies.

Ongoing analysis of relevant industry developments, ideally supplemented by a carefully cultivated network of contacts.

A degree level qualification : BA, BSc or equivalent or higher degree.

Excellent presentation and written communication skills, and the ability to write and deliver content to deadlines. Fluency in written and oral English is required.

Fluency in a second European language would be advantageous.
