to-end accountability for the business solutions we provide. About Compliance Technology Compliance Technology is a control function that helps to protect the Barclays and promote a strong compliance culture throughout the firm by providing regulatory and compliance advice and guidance (e.

g., through policy and training) and maintaining a risk-based program designed prevent, detect and address violations of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, deviations from industry standards and other relevant standards. Overall purpose of role

  • Be integral part of Prague scrum and perform QA activities including manual and automated testing.
  • Capture the product vision and document QA requirements / user stories, prepare and executing testing scripts.
  • Write and execute QA user cases adhering to standard and meeting user requirements.
  • Collaborate with BA, Dev and stakeholders to prioritise and manage successful delivery of a leading edge product that satisfies our business’ needs.
  • Working with the project / delivery manager, development and BA teams to agree on release schedules
  • Providing regular updates to the redelivery / project manager and stakeholders regarding progress Additionally, the successful candidate should have soft skills to complement their technical knowledge, including technical analysis experience, strong communication and documentation skills.
  • The candidate will be expected to proactively improve their knowledge and skills and take on greater responsibilities as they grow into their role.

    Key Accountabilities

  • Develop a good understanding of the Compliance System(s) under test.
  • Control and monitor testing progress, defect tracking and maintaining appropriate metrics.
  • Provides oversight / guidance to his / her team on day to day activities (Analysis, design, execution, reporting)
  • Adhere to the project testing schedules and flag immediately if there is a risk of slippage.
  • Detailed hands on testing of new functionalities & regression of existing functionalities
  • Identifying test conditions from project documentation and developing test cases which provide full coverage
  • Work & collaborate with the delivery manager / PM, development lead to align test execution plans with software development / deployment plans
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions for process improvements within the project and across the test practice.
  • Ability to work in global environment with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Proven ability to multitask, manage concurrent global project efforts, and work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Hands on automation experience. Liaising with automation team to provide cost effective solutions.
  • Prior experience on of working in Compliance domain or IB domain is preferred
  • Experienced in writing Test Plan / Strategy for complicated technical and functional projects.
  • Adopt a rigorous, quantitative approach to measuring and delivering software quality
  • Work closely with developers, business stakeholders and act as an integral part of the software development team using an iterative development process.
  • Experience of working in agile projects.
  • Stakeholder Management and Leadership

  • Must be able to work with global (UK, India and US) and multi-disciplinary (3rd party, contractors and Barclays) delivery teams.
  • Expected to be an excellent communicator (verbal and written) and have strong organization skills, with ability to liaise at all levels of the organization.
  • Act as point of contact with business users and managers during UAT phases. Take ownership of UAT issues and communicate status clearly to the stakeholders.
  • Write regular status updates for stakeholders; adapt templates and styles as required over time.
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively, concisely and comprehensively communicate downwards, upwards and within peer circles.
  • Decision-making and Problem Solving

  • Ensure that testing activities are completed as per QA standards, on schedule, as per regulatory requirements; failure to miss regulatory deadlines may incur significant financial or reputational loss to the bank so the candidate must accept and take ownership of these responsibilities.
  • Communicate and escalate management issues to senior management, when necessary.

  • Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.

  • Basic Qualifications
  • Extensive experience of working in Agile methodologies.
  • Prior experience working as QA / QA Automation within Compliance or Financial sector.
  • Excellent experience with following tools and technologiesHP Mercury testing tools (Quality Centre, Quick Test Professional QTP / UFT)Selenium / TestCompleteBehavior driven development practices (Cucumber, jBehave etc)JIRADatabases -
  • SQL Server, OracleUNIX, Windows

  • Able to work well with IT developers in multiple locations and across other teams
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and deliver results.
  • A proactive, self-starter, who is can be relied upon to act on initiative.
  • Can do attitude - willingness to roll-up the sleeves in order to get things done.
  • Collaborative style with ability to quickly build trust / credibility.
  • Preferred Qualification
  • Professional QA certification desirable
  • Preferred working experience in Control Room / Conflict Management business domain
