Job Summary :
Primary responsibilities are to develop own Rental accounts and to assist the Trane office in the development and growth of their temporary solutions (rental) business.
Success will be measured by, orders / sales, market share, and profit goals for assigned office.
Must have excellent product and technical knowledge as well as interpersonal and presentation skills to work effectively with Trane office and Rental Services personnel and interact effectively with customers.
Must be tactful, professional, assertive, and an effective and clear decision-maker under pressure situations; ability to deal effectively with customers, sales assistants, and field sales force required.
Initiative and ability to recognize, prioritize, and perform required activities with minimum supervision or assistance required.
Must be able to recognize developing situations in order to react and diffuse complaints / potential problems, determine when additional assistance is needed, and involve upper management as required.
Ability to make effective promotional and in-depth technical presentations.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and team-player skills.
Develop and close sales opportunities to pro-actively grow emergency response rentals, number of cooling contingency plans and to move into non-
emergency markets including planned, seasonal and special events rentals.
Create and design accurate and timely technical solutions based on the customer’s temporary needs and specifications based on existing rental equipment offering.
Develop rental quotes from initial request to proposal, to include rental equipment quotes to complete turn key solution proposals.
Do quote follow up. Perform quote analysis to determine actions to improve future quote closure percentages.
Monitor customer satisfaction and effectively provide resolution to customer issues and problems.
Maintain acceptable rental project margins and minimum office financial requirements.
Participate in local trade, association, parts and maintenance shows.
Work with Rental Services teams and help develop and coordinate vertical market strategies for temporary solutions in your assigned market.
Help the office determine and develop the appropriate marketing strategy for their coverage area and help develop marketing tools, case studies and success stories in the local rental market.
Support training of the office sales force in temporary solutions offering, key markets, and rental fulfillment.
Develop goals and measurements and monitor rental sales and office rental performance. Implement corrective actions to improve performance.
Track pull through business that comes from acquired rentals.
Understand local and national competition, to include product lines, marketing strategies, current system types, and relative costs.
Provide appropriate direction on rental project pricing based on local market while ensuring pricing is based on value of service and product vs.
a commoditized offering.
Help the Rental Services team and Trane Sales offices to validate market sizes and potential in assigned region.
Understand Trane’s internal billing and order processing system and provide needed direction to office administrative support.
Coordinate shipments and returns to and from jobs, in conjunction with the Rental Services fulfillment team.
Track existing and completed jobs to ensure that all billing is correct and up to date.
Develop, foster and maintain good relationships with the Rental Services team, national accounts group, vertical market teams and sub contractors.
Develop and maintain relationships with the local office team and office leadership. Effectively interact with the Territory leadership team and other key Climate Solutions business leaders in order to achieve Temporary Solutions business growth.
Have the willingness and capability to respond to after hours customer calls, requests and emergency rentals.
Other tasks as assigned.
Significant Travel required. Daily throughout assigned district, periodically nationally.
University specialist degree or above in mechanical engineering
Good communication and presentation skills, with sales potential
Good work ethic, attention to detail and good execution abilities
