Who are we looking for ?

HR Business Partner to join our HR team in MSD Czech Republic.

Position Overview

  • As a core member of the MSD CZ country HR team, contribute to the achievement of the HR plan and priorities across divisions and demonstrate strong collaboration and One MSD mindset
  • Provide strategic partnership to business in developing, implementing and realizing the people strategy that enables achievement of business objectives
  • Adopt and drive adoption of MSD’s global HR Operating Model across client groups, in close collaboration with HR Operations and Centers of Excellence
  • Support client groups in application of key HR processes and programs, such as- Organization Design, Talent Management, Rewards and Retention Strategies, global and local HR Policies, and local Labor Code
  • Provide strategic support to business in key talent and leadership development, driving culture building and change, and enhancing employee engagement, diversity and inclusion
  • Provide consultative and unbiased support to people managers and employees on complex people / employee relations issues
  • Act as the custodian of HR data and compliance steward for matters related to human capital / legal framework
  • Key Responsibilities

    HR Strategy Implementation

    o Support adoption of the global HR Operating Model and realization of the Czech Republic HR priorities

    o Provide strategic and tactical support to line clients in achievement of people related priorities

    o Provide coaching to people managers on key HR processes, e.g. Performance Management, Compensation & Benefits, Talent Management, Employee Development and Career Planning

    o Partner with business clients and other relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance to MSD HR global and local policies, and local employment laws

    o Closely collaborate with HR colleagues across the country / region / globe (including CoEs) to ensure alignment of local practices and programs with the collective HR strategy and goals

    Talent Management

    o Provide consultation to business clients in the effective execution of Talent Management processes, tools and deliverables

    o Provide consultation to business clients on appropriate talent attraction, retention, and reward strategies (in consultation with CoEs as necessary)

    o Provide consultation to business clients on Compensation and Benefits matters

    o Support business in development of capability building plans that underpin the business transformation plans

    o Support business in achievement of the Diversity and Inclusion strategy

    o Support pull through of global and regional Talent Development programs at local level, and execution of local Talent Management / Development programs

    Organization Design

    o Support business leader in Organization restructuring and transformation initiatives, including : consultation on Organization design, identification of people impact, local labor law review and alignment, facilitation of change management plan, execution of HR system and process requirements to support the transformation, and collaboration with CoEs to execute the people implications.

    Employee Relations and Engagement

    o Support assimilation of new employees and people managers in the organization, including facilitation of new hire orientation

    o Support / facilitate employee engagement initiatives in partnership with line leadership and other key stakeholders

    o Support people managers in dealing with employee performance and disciplinary issues, ensuring compliance with local laws and MSD internal guidelines

    o Provide coaching and counseling to people managers and employees on complex HR matters

    HR Operations / Project Management

    o Partner with HR Operations team for local pull-through of global / regional HR portfolio projects and cyclical processes

    o Actively participate in the development and implementation of global and regional HR projects

    o Design and implement local HR solutions to address unique business requirements, while ensuring alignment with global programs and policies

    o Ensure local HR policies and processes are up-to-date, compliant with local labour laws as well as global MSD guidelines, and communicated effectively

    o Collaborate with HR Service Delivery to ensure employee life-cycle changes are updated in HtR, payroll and other downstream systems in a timely and accurate manner


    Expected Qualification of Yours :

  • Master’s degree (Human Sciences and / or Business Management)
  • 6-10 years’ experience in HR function, preferably in multi-national corporate environment
  • Proven ability to develop a good understanding of business issues and identify and deliver HR interventions and solutions to meet business needs
  • Track record of contributing to the management of change successfully
  • Up to date knowledge of employment legislation and best practices
  • Strong understanding of Compensation & Benefits principles and market practices and able to apply to business context
  • Fluent knowledge of English
