JOB DESCRIPTION & SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
The External Manufacturing Operations Director (EU / NA) provides leadership to the ExM Operations Managers and Cross Functional Manufacturing Division teams supporting our External Manufacturing Partners in the areas of :
Dispute resolution (w / appropriate escalation)
Materials Management (SAP entries, E2E Planning, Logistics)
Quality issues (Deviation Management, Product Release, Change Control)
Technology issues (Technology transfers, Investigations, Process Improvements, etc.)
Oversight of shop floor production (determining when an ExM Quality or Technology representative should be deployed to the External Party’s facility)
Continuous Improvement activities
Supply and compliance risk assessment and mitigation strategies
This particular role, Regional Operations Director, will have additional responsibilities above and beyond the traditional scope of the role :
Increasing ExM leadership in the EU / NA Region with direct engagement thru Regional Operations and Supply Chain
The leader in this position will be expected to drive boundaryless collaboration, influence and connectivity by working directly with key stakeholders across the region (Operations VP, Internal Plant Managers, SCM, etc .)
Serving as ExM point of contact for all regional Tier, S&OP, GHH Regional, LOB meetings.
This role will engage in strategy development and early engagement on due diligence and business development work occurring in the region.
This role will be expected to serve as a key ExM leader for the region extending beyond API / DS and providing coaching and mentorship for other ExM disciplines as required.
The Ops Director leads the regional ExM Leadership Team and partners with the leaders in the functional areas (e.g. Procurement, Quality, Technology, Finance, Legal, HR, etc.
to address broader business issues, customer needs and opportunities.
Participates in the annual profit planning process, provides a monthly estimated actual on the organization’s projected and actual spending and maintains a multi-
year capital plan / budget.
Responsible for people related matters within his / her area including but not limited to staffing, employee development (technical, business and leadership), performance & compensation management, employee relations and retention, change management, etc.
The Ops Director is also responsible for creating and maintaining a high performance team organization and culture.
Responsible for ensuring External Party capacity information (e.g. stated capacity, firm capacity, future capacity plans, time horizon / lead times required, etc.
is provided for robust end-to-end planning activities.
Facilitates EM Operations Manager collaboration to leverage best practices & lessons learned across the ExM network.
Participates in periodic Business and Relationship Review Meetings (as appropriate).
Participates as a member of the applicable Value Chain Management Teams, as appropriate, charged with reducing overall cycle time, inventory, and supporting life cycle management activities.
Participates on the applicable Regional Leadership Teams (Pharm, Chemical, and Sterile) representing the ExM Organization and his / her respective external party relationships.
Stays abreast with industry and policy changes and identifies implications and opportunities for their area of ExM and / or ExM Organization at large.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE - KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science
Required Experience and Skills :
A minimum 10 years’ experience in API manufacturing with experience in the following areas : operations, quality, technology, planning, procurement required (or equivalent combination of education / experience).
Preferred Experience and Skills :
Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, negotiation, and project management skills. Demonstrated strong leadership, managerial, problem solving, and team building abilities and sensitivity to diverse cultures.
Must possess the ability to work independently with minimal coaching. Must be decisive in ambiguous environment. Able to be the one face of our Manufacturing Division to the external party.
