Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) works on improving thedeveloper experience - we’re trying to make the developer’s life easier byautomating everything that can be automated, providing reliable monitoring ofthe running services and keeping everything we do well documented.
We also keepan eye on our infrastructure and network configuration. We watch out for anysecurity issues and make sure everyone understands the operational security.
SRE helps smoothen the continuous integration and continuous delivery process.
This is all very cool but notto forget about the main part : we are responsible for our productionenvironment. We have to make sure we’re live and running at all times.
Ifthere’s a production issue, we need to make sure it’s handled properly. Ifthere’s a security incident, we need to handle it.
SRE team is on top of thewhole incident workflow - from the initial alert through the impact analysis, customer response to creating a post mortem.
Our range is wide so we learnnew things every day - which is the extra super cool part about being an SRE.
