Honeywell Aerospace offers an opportunity for a talented control and estimation scientist to join Advanced Technology organization in Brno, Czech republic.
You will work in the Electro-Mechanical Systems department on the development of innovative aerospace technologies in the field of actuation and motor control, pushing the boundaries in performance and power density.
As a member of cross-functional team, your work will span from the early stage technology research up to the prototype demonstration in the relevant environment.
This role assumes ability to deal with challenging and often conflicting design requirements in an innovative way. If you like to learn new things and enjoy being challenged by work beyond the state of the art, you might be the right person.
Your specific role will include :
Design of state estimation algorithms for complex aerospace systems, ranging from electro-mechanical actuators to power electronics and motor drives.
Optimization of the developed algorithms for safety-critical real-time implementation
Develop dynamical models of complex electro-mechanical systems, including components nonidealities
Perform simulations, analysis and verification of developed estimators using high-fidelity models,
Design test campaign in V&V environment, perform DoE and Montecarlo simulations to analyze worst case conditions
Support prototyping and implementation of estimation algorithms into embedded platforms
Support the integration of estimators / observers in the control strategies
and potentially also :
Collaboration on the failure mode effects analysis from the system point of view
Support the control implementation activities
M.Sc. or (preferably) PhD. in Control, Estimation, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant field
Deep knowledge of estimation theory, including Kalman filter and linear observer techniques
Proven experience in estimation algorithms research or development
Experience in modelling of physical systems
Knowledge of (Power) Electronics and mechanical systems
Proficiency using MATLAB / Simulink
Good mathematical background
Good command of English (both written and spoken)
Research experience in aerospace field, or desire to quickly learn this domain
Deep knowledge of control theory
Experience with control algorithms implementation
Experience with optimization, and / or numerically stiff systems simulation
Experience with embedded estimators / control implementation in DSP or FPGAs
Experience in low-latency real-time implementation of estimation / control algorithms
